UF Health Shands Children's Hospital Debuts Colorful New Exterior

Colorful Architectural Stainless Steel Woven Wire Mesh by WS Tyler decorates the newly renovated exterior of the UF Health Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Construction on the $11 million atrium and exterior, designed by the architecture firm Ponikvar and Associates Inc. and built by Ajax Construction Inc., began April 2013.

The old red brick facade is now covered by an array of green, blue, purple, red and yellow panels.  The hospital, Dr. David Guzick senior vice president for Health Affairs at UF and president of UF Health said, now is a "bright, airy space that says 'welcome, you are in the children's hospital, we will take care of you.'
