Innovative use of Resin Panels at Kaltex North America Elevator Lobby
ARCHITECT HAD A SPECIFIC VISION... LIGHTBLOCKS to the rescue!
For those of you who are not aware of LIGHTBLOCKS “Novel”, this project is a great example. You will notice in the pictures that the material is reflective. That’s because it is clear, polished not finished with LIGHTBLOCKS standard matt surface. In fact, both the front and back side of the panels are printed with the white lines. This is “Novel” since it is not the traditional LIGHTBLOCKS product with our proprietary finish.
The material was printed with this pattern on both sides then colored black on the back and laminated to ½” MDF. So you have an integration of product brands here. Canvas for the printing, Designer for the black color and it ultimately is Novel because it does not have our surface finish on it. The panels were installed on “Z”-clips.
The job is located on the 70th and 76th floor of the Empire State Building in NYC. It looks spectacular!
